Maiori is a fascinating city on the Amalfi Coast which stands out for the presence of a 1 Km long, fine sandy beach and crystal clear waters.
Known as a coveted seaside town, Maiori holds a very ancient history and, through the years, it has conquered the hearts of famous people like Roberto Rossellini. The town seems to have Etruscan origins, and its original name was Rheginna Maior, named after the Reginna river.
After the Second World War, Maiori recorded a remarkable urban and touristic development, partly due by the filmmaker Roberto Rossellini who chose this town to shoot various neo realistic movies like Paisà, Miracle and Viaggio in Italia.
